Many of you out there probably enjoy a nice gave of cards with friends every in a while. Some poker, among others. But I can “bet” that none of you so far won 720,000 Euros in a single game.
The sum was won by Vaness Rousso, a pro poker player of French origins. She is a law student at the University of Miami, a member of Team PokerStars, and a spokesperson for GoDaddy.com. As of 2009[update], Rousso had finished in the money in numerous professional live poker events and had earned over US$2,100,000 in career earnings.
So it’s pain for everyone to see that Vanessa is no weekend warrior when it comes to cards. The competition in Monaco, the PokerStars.com EPT Monte Carlo High Roller Championship, was quite interesting both for professional poker players, Monaco officials and every Joe that’s into poker. 78 participants battled for the final match, and Vanessa Rousso succeeded to ladder up to the final table consisting of: Dorfman, TonyG of Lithuania, Florian Langmann from Germany, Australians David Eldar and David Steicke, the UK’s Andrew Feldman and William Thorsen of Sweden.
It was definitely lucky Sunday for Vanessa, with an investment of Euro 25,000 she came back home with almost $960,000. Another friendly game of poker in the hotel after the competition and she probably won a big mil in one day. How much would you work for all that cash? Not to say that it’s probably 100% tax free – Love you Monaco !
Fellow American Randy Dorfman was the second in the top, with grossings of Euro 434,000.
