Heavy Snow In UK

The snow that has covered Great Britain is one of the earliest that arrived in the last 17 years. The traffic was very difficult and in some regions the schools were closed.

In Scotland, the most affected region, 159 schools were closed last Friday. Also the traffic in this region was completely blocked.

Numerous busses that were intended for school transportation were stuck in the snow fall.

Tuesday evening a 737 Boeing carrying 800 persons drove away from the landing zone in Newcastle but no one was injured. The airport officials declared that this happened because the ground became very slippery and their effort to make it optimal for landing were in vain.
