Chrysler sale offers as Dealers close

Many Chrysler dealers around the country are forced to close down, but not before they somehow make those cars fly. This is no great news, economy-wise, but on the other hand some might be quite eager to find out that Chrysler Dealers are offering some some real hot “out of business” deals. Mostly the ones that want to sell out and close. Thousands of people are expected to take advantage of these offers … or so hope Chrysler Dealers that are going to close, for the time being or for good.

Headquartered in the Detrior Area, Chrysler started out in early 1925, and has been a proud all-American brand ever since. From 1998 to 2007, Chrysler and its subsidiaries were part of the German based DaimlerChrysler AG (now Daimler AG). Due the the international financial crisis (no need to detail here…), on April 30, 2009, Chrysler filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and announced a partnership with Italian automaker Fiat. Many people still love their Chryslers and would still keep buying one, rather than some more affordable but with, let’s say, less personality Chevy.

Even if many car dealers are closing down, things might not be all so grim for Chrysler as a brand. Mainly because:

  • On March 7, 2009, Chrysler Vice-Chairman Jim Press stated that current sales volume is sufficient to keep the company going as sales should rise in the coming months. The Chrysler executive also noted the automaker’s February retail sales were better than Ford’s as Chrysler continued to curtail lower-margin fleet sales. He also said the volumes being forecast for 2009 are within the estimates Chrysler envisioned in preparing its viability plan for the federal government.
  • On March 30, 2009, the White House announced it would provide an additional $6 billion in further support to Chrysler contingent on the company finalizing an alliance with Fiat before the end of April.

In the meantime, if you are tired of the old Dodge and would like to maybe exchange the old Chrysler with…. a new Chrys,  now would be a good time to do so. ABC 7 News reports that although car sales have been very slow, some dealerships have noticed that car sales have started to increase slowly, this is thanks to a slowly improving economy.

Dealers themselves probably are waiting with a glim of hope in their eyes for this season, as in late Spring-Summer car sales usually go up. As soon as we have more details and exact numbers on these said-to-be-great bargains we will update. So keep posted !
