PRINCETON 03 June 2009: Borough and state police inform that juveniles have been taken into custody, and at the time being stay so. They were taken in after the Princeton University gunman fright that happened this morning.
This news was already on the lips of locals, students and families after an update posted on the university Web stated: “the first report and a second tip led borough police to four juveniles who were taken into custody near campus.”
It might surprise some that the whole almost-scandal was caused by no Desert Eagle or Magnum handgun, nor some semi-automatic (as some saw with their own eyes-few things surprise us anymore when it comes to Universities) but by some…. toy guns. Princeton Borough police said the juveniles were carrying an “imitation firearm” and “didn’t realize they were causing alarm.”
In addition, Princeton on-line mentioned that the suspected handgun was a “dark green plastic toy that could be confused with an actual weapon.”
Police agents found the false gun near the WaWa convenience store on University Place. The update noted that the juvenile suspects were not Princeton University students, but outsiders. The “gun” is said to be a dark green and rather realistic looking. Well, we would have figured that much out ourselves…

If people got scarred over a toy gun, maybe a tiny could cause a riot?
It is much to early at this point to know whether the juveniles will be accused or how soon they will be allowed to go home. Sources are also unsure if they will be charged with any crime whatsoever.
As you all can deduct, this case might be a simple joke in many schools and campuses around the world, but here it was taken really seriously and handled as a possible public danger and (later on) crime. University spokeswoman Emily Aronson praised the law enforcement efforts that investigated the initial 11 a.m. report of a gunman on campus. “It was handled very well,” she said.
