Miss California - Carrie Prejean
It appears that Governor Sarah Palin has decided to join the media circus revolving around California beauty queen Carrie Prejean. Prejean is involved in a series of controversial debates since she commented in opposition to gay marriage at the Miss USA pageant and believes that her sincere speech is exactly what cost her the first place.
Apparently Palin thought Prejean is in desperate need of her help and decided to send out a statement through her spokesman, Meg Stapleton. Palin considers all the comments about Prejean statement as being beyond contempt and wanted to make clear that this belief about traditional marriage is also supported by President Obama and Secretary Clinton, who also agree that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. Palin added that she respects Prejean for not changing her mind under pressure and staying true to herself.
Prejean’s fiasco started at the Miss USA pageant when she was asked about her opinion on same sex marriage by judge and blogger Perez Hilton. More controversies appeared when semi-nude pictures hit the internet and her association with the conservative National Organization for Marriage led to a dispute whether Prejean should still keep her crown or not. Pageant owner Donald Trump decided yesterday there is no reason for Prejean to lose her title.
