USA has been hit by yet another case of teacher-student relationship after a Queens middle school teacher was charged with rape of one of her 14-year-old students. The mother of the 14-year-old searched through the student’s cellphone and found multiple calls and SMS text messages from Melissa Weber, 27.
Ms. Weber lives in West Babylon, Long Island and she decline to comment, but she faces up to 7 years in jail if the is found guilty of rape. The mother of the student pressed charges of rape and sexual abuse, and she said that these acts can seriously damage her child and his future.
According to the Queens district attorney prosecutors, the woman had sexual intercourse with the student since mid-April and it happened on seven occasion after school hours in a classroom. It appears that Melissa Weber told the child to keep quiet, don’t let anybody know what’s going one because she could get arrested and lose her license.
The mother of the 14-year-old student is a member of the Parent-Teacher Association at the Junior High School 8, and she heard that Ms. Weber is having sex with her son therefore she decided to investigate. She says that she checked her son’s cellphone for messages from the teachers, and she found a recent one which said “erase your phone.”
Yesterday, the mother took her child at the police, in a case which shocked the prosecutors who said that “a classroom should be a safe place for a student.”
