When Senator Arlen Specter left the GOP, the Republicans were astonished. They felt betrayed. Nobody knew what to do. They said that they are in worst political period in recent history. However, after they analyzed the situation here, it seems like everything is about to change for the Republican Party. The Republicans are looking to rebuild their beloved GOP. Arlen Specter and George W. Bush led the party in a wrong direction and they had betrayed their GOP principles, however, the Republicans have to call for tax cuts, and to reduce federal spending.
“We strayed from our principles of limited government, individual responsibility and economic freedom. We have to adhere to those principles to rebuild the party. Those are the brand of the Republican Party, and people feel that we betrayed the brand,” stated Chris Chocola, a former Indiana congressman.
Now, the Republican Party has to become more flexible, but they should remain just as conservative. This is a cliche, but the GOP has to change something. I think that Specter’s departure will be a good thing for the GOP, but only time will tell.
