Five-story Building Collapses In Lower Manhattan

The Collapsed Building in Manhattan

Although there were no earthquake and explosions, a building has collapsed on a construction site in Manhattan earlier today. The five-story building was vacant therefore nobody was injured. The emergency crews came at the scene almost immediately and they also had a dog which sniffed through the rubble, but thankfully there were no injured humans or animals.

The good thing was that the five-story building collapsed before heavy traffic and there was no traffic and no pedestrians. The collapse occurred around 6:15 a.m. and a man who lives just across the street saw everything. Mr. Lewis Largent said that we was looking outside the windows like in every morning, but he noticed something different: “the bricks started trickling off the top corner.” At first he thought that “it was raining or something”, but “then within 10 seconds it just all came down like a wave or an avalanche.”

Some parts of the collapsed building were on the streets while some pieces of wood were dangerously hanging from the remainder of the building. However, the police secured the area until it was safe for everybody.
