The LA Dodgers started brightly this season with a 10-3 win at home versus the Washington Nationals. The Dodgers, reigning National League West champions, have seen their best start in a long time now, to be precise a century, short by 3 years. We’ll keep you posted as to whether this winning streak will end or not.

It seems that 13 was Lucky 13 for the LA based team, this match being a victory who set the fans wild and also set a record, as I already said above. The record had been held since now by the Detroit Tigers, who won 12 games at home.

Manager Joe Torre

Manager of the Dogers, Jeo Torre had a pretty good loo king CV I`d say: with 2,151 wins (through September 28, 2008), he presently ranks 7th in all-time Major League Baseball all-time managerial wins. He also seems to see beyond numbers, his words after the match were: “I’m glad we got it, only because it becomes a distraction and you get to the point where it’s all you’re shooting for.” Torre added to thrilled reporters: “Then maybe you have a letdown even if you don’t realize it. Hopefully, this is a stepping-stone on the way to something more important.”

Manny Ramirez and Orlando Hudson had two RBIs each, while starter Clayton Kershaw pitchedfive innings in the win.

Washington’s Ryan Zimmerman extended his franchise-record hitting streak to 24 games with a single in the first inning. He is probably one of the few from the loosing side who at least got some satisfaction out of the game.
