
Swine flu killed two more people this weekend. It seems that both victims were suffering from other health conditions.
The disease was also reported in China as they discovered the first suspected case of H1N1. World Health Organization’s statistics show that the virus affected 29 countries with 4,379 cases reported. In the United States only were reported 2,532 cases in 44 states and the District of Columbia, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A man suffering from diabetes and chronic lung disease died in Costa Rica after being infested with the swine flu virus, the Costarican Health Ministry reported.
An American man died of the swine flu virus in the state of Washington, said the Washington Sate Department of Health. The man showed the first symptoms on April 30, and took anti-viral medication since. He also suffered from viral pneumonia and “underlying heart conditions and died last week with what appears to be complications” added the Washington Sate Department of Health. The man was in his 30′s and lived in Snohomish County, north of Seattle. Anyway no one knows the exact location where he contacted the virus.
At a conference on Friday, the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that preliminary observations show that the swine flu victims also suffering from other health conditions are more prone to hospitalization or even death.
All the victims of the H1N1 virus that died in the United States were having health problems. In Mexico the flu killed 48 people so far, most of them being aged 20 to 49 none of them suffering from complicating factors.
