Scientists say one in nine women suffer from breast cancer and until now no child has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately for Hannah Powell-Auslam, she is only 10 years old and she is already fighting with the lethal disease.
Hannah was shocked when he got the diagnosis, considering she is only 10, but the diagnosis is true and this disease becomes more and more dangerous. “How could this happen? I’m ten. I was really shocked,” Hannah said.
Fortunately for her, she has a slow growing cancer, the secretory carcinoma, but still it’s something with no precedent. Her tumor is nearly two inches, as doctors discovered after an ultra-sound.
“Ten-year-olds don’t get breast cancer,” Hannah’s mother, Carrie Auslam, said.
“I told my mom, ‘I just want to be a normal kid, go back to school, play sports,” said Hannah.
Hannah is going to fight cancer and will do her best to be a normal kid, without allowing the disease destroy her life.
