Devastating 7.1 Honduras earthquake destroys homes

An incredible powerful seism hit Hoduras and Belize and made at least one victim destroying structures and creating panic in residents. According to deputy director of Honduras’ Permanent Emergency Commission Carlos Gonzalez, the 7.1 quake struck the region of Honduras on Thursday, collapsing homes and making one victim in Pineda de la Lima.

The epicenter of the seism was apparently 80 miles northeast of La Ceiba, Honduras and made the residents of the affected area run into the streets at 3:24 am. According to Carlos Gonzales, the damages were enormous and did not stop at homes only, buildings on construction sites were affected too and workers had to be evacuated. It seems that even some roads were affected as crack appeared on them in several cities. Electricity is now out in many areas but there is no imminent danger of a tsunami.
