California Earthquake Felt As Far As San Diego County

California Earthquake

The earthquake who struck the Southern California yesterday didn’t cause too much damage as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Lennox station officials. We remind you, if that’s necessary, that a 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit Los Angeles areas yesterday which was also followed by a 3.1 magnitude aftershock. Although it was almost clear from the beginning, no people was badly injured due to the earthquake, although a man was reported dead due to a heart attack, however, it is not clear yet if the man suffered the heart attack due to the earthquake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was localized near Lennox at 8.4 miles below the surface which was a little surprising for the authorities. Lennox seismologists said that the earthquake was deep therefore it was “less sharp.” The shock lasted only 10 seconds, but it was enough to scare Californians.

At first the earthquake has been reported as of 5 magnitude, however, seismologists analyzed it better and it was downgraded to 4.7. Another interesting fact about the Los Angeles earthquake was that it was felt as far as the San Diego County. Also, Police officials announced that the Chevron, El Segundo refinery got a “burnoff” which means that excess gases had to be burned as it’s a standard procedure in case of an earthquake. We will return with more information as soon as the Police issues other official reports.

Hey, California, if an earthquake of 4.4 at 4:04 am hits you, this is a good sign that you need to be prepared and watch out for April 4th.
