American Idol finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen battled last night for the big prize. Each one sang three songs, “Mad World” and “A chance is gonna come” for Albert, and “ain’t no sunshine” and “What’s going on” for Allen.
Lambert was this seasons’ favorite, being considered one of the best performances of this season. Judge Simon Cowell said he didn’t expect so much from Kris Allen but now he will take his words back.

Their third song was “No boundaries”, co-written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, but it was too high for Allen’s vocal range, unfortunately for him.
“The whole idea about doing a show like this is that you hope you can find a worldwide star — I genuinely believe with all my heart that we have found that with you,” Cowell says.
The winner will be chosen after the viewers telephone votes will end on Wednesday night.

Helloooooooooo………… I live in NZ and the singer of that song’s name is Adam Lambert – not Albert! – and voting finishes/has now finished TUESDAY night in the US. I don’t even live in America and I know more information about what is going on than you do – and you dare to write an article that is full of inaccuracies – if you are going to report on something, that you obviously don’t watch or follow, then do yourself – and your job, a favour and get your facts right!!!!!!

The song is “A Change is Going to Come” sung on Idol by Adam Lambert. It is a Sam Cooke song, classic r & b. I think that Syesha sang it last year in the final 3.

I really am pulling for Adam to win! he has shown the MOST raw natural and God given talent and showmanship than any other performer on Idol! He has been the only one in all seasons that had me wondering what he is going to do next and had me glued to the TV with his performances! I also like Kris! But there are way too many Kris Allens out there! Gavin D, John Mellencamp, John Mayer, etc! and look at the many like Kris that didnt do so well on Idol! David A had that Kris vibe, so did Elliot Yamine and Ace Young and just a million others! There is really no others out there like Adam! and yes he is theatrical, but really, what rock legend out there isnt! tell that to Steven Tyler and KISS!!!
KRIS is in it to win it. Dont get me wrong Adam has talent and is amazing, but, his screaming is annoying sometimes. Watching him once was fine but in the final show and they preformed 3 songs and hearing his screaming in every one gave me a headache. I like him and I know he will get a record deal but i’m not going to be there buying his records. I wil buy Kris’ records. He has a nice pop sound and I like that. He is original in his own way and can make any song work.
Sorry, but the Atom Bomb is ever so slightly trailing Kris Allen in the votes. Absent an upset it looks like Atom will come in second.

I want Kris Allen to win, but all 3 years I have been watching American Idol, the person that I want to win looses. First Blake Lewis, then David Archuleta. I have a feeling I will go through it again. I voted for Kris Allen 3 times!!!!!!!!!

I’m a classically-trained countertenor, so I have a lot of appreciation for what Adam Lambert does technically, but he’s actually more of a caricature than a genuine artist: The screaming and the histrionic mannerisms come across as pure tackiness, and the whole “rocker without a cause” image that he puts forward is very outdated. And his music videos…well…just start back at the beginning of this paragraph!
It’s all rather sad because if anyone has seen photos of Adam without all that makeup, he’s really a good looking guy–tall, nice build, nice eyes… It’s a shame that he doesn’t let us see who he really is–physically and musically. If he played it a bit more straight that way (no pun intended), he’d have a greater following. As he is right now… no one will remember his name in another year.
