“I’m a celebrity…get me our of here!” features Patti Blagojevich

Rod Blagojevich’s wife, Patti, stared in the TV adventure-wanna-be show “I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!”.

Blagojevich is an American politician who served as the 40th governor of Illinois from 2003 to 2009. He hails from Serbia, hence the unpronounceable name. On January 8, 2009, the Illinois House of Representatives voted to impeach Blagojevich by a 114–1 vote for corruption and misconduct in office, the first time such an action has been taken against a governor of Illinois, making him the second state official in Illinois history to be impeached. He was subsequently convicted and removed from office on January 29, 2009 by a unanimous 59–0 vote in the Illinois State Senate. In a separate vote, the Senate voted unanimously to permanently bar Blagojevich from holding public office again in the state of Illinois. Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn was subsequently sworn in as new governor.

In consequence, his brave wife took the place in the mentioned show, and while waves of elector’s negative views stormed the politician, the politician’s wife was stormed by the real storms and even ate some spiders for lunch. All for entertainment, a pesimist would say, but take into account that “I`m a celebrity…get me out of here!” is one of the most hard-core adventure shows in the business. The show originates from the U.K., produced by ITV Productions for the ITV network in Britain and and brought to the States by NBC.

The participants, apart from Patti Blagojevich, are: Myleene Klass and Damien Fahey – hosts, with Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Sanjaya Malakar, John Salley, Janice Dickinson, Stephen Baldwin, Lou Diamond Phillips^, Torrie Wilson, Frangela.

Patti went on the show for income for the family as well as charity (children cancer prevention). Patti distinguished herself as one of the more sane contestants on the gross-out reality show. And no, there was no swearing. Not even as she chewed a tarantula. (It had a “musty, yeasty” flavor, she said.)

Old school supermodel Janice Dickinson called her a “great woman.” By the end of the show, Illinois’ former first lady was hanging upside down in the Trauma Tank, wearing goggles, as cockroaches danced in her hair. Among the complaints that popularity votes have brought is that the show features has-been celebrities trying to revive their careers. But for Patti this surely does not apply, we appreciate that she is doing something for her family and think that she a plus in the cast for the show. Just watch it and see for yourself.
